Point Clouds

A point cloud is a 3D representation of an area. The area could be land/terrain, a building, or other feature of the landscape. Potentially thousands of sets of coordinates are used to create this representation. The resulting dataset can be used to gain insights into the survey area, e.g. the elevation, distances between features, etc. We use commercial grade survey and mapping hardware, combined with intelligent post-processing, to create highly accurate point clouds.

Many Coordinates

A point cloud can comprise thousands or even millions of coordinates.

High Accuracy

Precise coordinate measurement using commercial grade equipment. Standard ground sample distance (GSD) of 2.4 cm/px at a flight attitude of 120m; higher resolutions are available. Absolute horizontal accuracy down to 1 cm if required by specification.

Post-Processing

We employ intelligent and effective post-processing to improve results. We can also process the data and use it in the production of plans, reports and data sets for more complex applications.

Digital Surface Model

By using a drone flying over the survey area, aerial data can be collected. This raw data can be taken and processed to create a detailed and accurate Digital Surface Model (DSM). We apply intelligent processing to the raw image data, to create an accurate vector triangulation model. We can also perform further post processing to remove features such as buildings, trees, etc. A DSM created by Evolution Mapping can be used across multiple industries to perform accurate and detailed calculations and measurements.

High-Quality Data

We use survey grade drones to capture raw aerial data as the basis of the DSM. Standard ground sample distance (GSD) of 2.4 cm/px at a flight attitude of 120m; higher resolutions are available. Absolute horizontal accuracy down to 1 cm if required by specification.

Post-Processing

We can provide various post-processing services to enhance the DSM to fit your needs.

Precise & Accurate

A DSM from Evolution Mapping is suitable for any application that requires exceptional accuracy and precision. We can also process the data and use it in the production of plans, reports and data sets for more complex applications

Digital Elevation Model

A Digital Elevation Model (DEM) is a raster data set that describes the terrain elevation of the survey area. A terrain-following drone can collect highly accurate data about the topography of the survey area. This raw data can then, in turn, be used to create a detailed 3D raster dataset of the survey area elevations. We can apply a number of post-processing techniques to enhance the DEM, depending on what you want to use it for, providing many ways to visualize the elevation of the features of the terrain.

Precise & Accurate

We capture the raw aerial data by using professional, survey-grade drones. Standard ground sample distance (GSD) of 2.4 cm/px at a flight attitude of 120m; higher resolutions are available. Absolute horizontal accuracy down to 1 cm if required by specification.

Post-Processing

Depending on your needs, we can apply a number of post-processing techniques to further enhance the DEM.

Standardised Formats

We can provide deliverables in most standard file formats such as GeoTIFF. We can also process the data and use it in the productions plans and reports for more complex applications.

Orthomosaic Imagery

Using a commercial-grade survey drone, we can collect accurate aerial data that can be combined to create a detailed orthomosaic map. The completed composite image is similar to satellite imagery. However, the definition is higher and the data is more precise. The map can be interactive, allowing you to zoom in and investigate features of the survey area. Evolution Mapping can provide orthomosaic imagery suitable for construction firms, property management companies, real estate agents, etc.

Accurate Aerial Data

Our survey quality, professional drones can capture high definition, very accurate aerial data. Standard ground sample distance (GSD) of 1.5 cm/px at a flight attitude of 120m; higher resolutions are available. Absolute horizontal accuracy down to 1 cm if required by specification

Interactive Maps

The orthomosaic map can be examined in detail, by zooming in to explore features of the survey area.

Post-Processing

We can intelligently apply different types of post-processing techniques to further enhance the orthomosaic map to suit your needs. We can also process the data and use it in the production of plans, reports and data sets for more complex applications.
